this is a cover of one of my favorite artists - jason mraz. I originally learned this on my ukulele, and then i forgot how to play my ukulele, so i picked it up on guitar :X

ok, so, if you don’t know, last year I auditioned and got a spot in the Kathy and Judy talent show (they have this convention every year), and it was a very nice time, aside from my family craziness. Nevertheless, my mom told me about how they still want people to submit, even if they were in it last year, so I figured I’d try. Their theme is Las Vegas, so I went for a more rat-packy theme.
This was a 2-take bedroom-bargain recording.

I have to be honest. When I first heard this song, I didn’t really like it that much. It reminded me of a friend of mine who was literally going through the exact story in the lyrics (same name and everything!). After a while, though, I really got into the hook and just kept hearing it so I decided to learn it on my guitar and record it.

It’s called Teardrops On My Guitar, and it’s by Taylor Swift. I hope you enjoy it.

ok so considering it’s 1:30 AM (or so), and to belt out when people are trying to sleep isn’t the nicest thing to do - so I decided just to make a snippet until I can find a nicer place to record (aka when it doesn’t pick up every sound).

iLoveNorthbrook Competition - Part 2.

This is one of my favorite songs ever to perform. I had such a fun time singing it, and it won me the competition for iLoveNorthbrook! With that prize, I got to participate in the Fourth of July parade the next day, sing the national anthem at the Veladrome and I got to perform as an opening act during the Northbrook Days festival.

The song is Natural Woman, originally done remarkably by Aretha Franklin.

He Never Failed Me Yet

Again, the date might be wrong on this, but this is by far one of my favorite experiences in music. This piece, He Never Failed Me Yet, is a gospel song I got to solo on with my high school choir when I was a senior. Every year, Glenbrook High Schools hosts the Techny Festival. Both North and South’s choirs join together and sing great music and are directed by a different Guest Director every time. However, they never have solos at Techny...that is, until now. This song, originally, was supposed to have 2 soloists, but instead I got the entire thing.

Please enjoy this song as much as I do - it’s great. (PS - that photo is not of our choir.)
